  • At Taking Flight Speech, Language and Literacy, we recognise the current shortage of speech pathologists and the growing demand for our services. This may sadly result in extended waitlist times for parents/caregivers/kin.

Our parent/caregiver/kin consultations provide an opportunity to connect with a speech pathologist to:

    • Discuss concerns and ask questions

    • Learn practical strategies to support your child at home

    • Receive professional, tailored advice

    • Determine if an assessment is necessary.

Appointments are billed in 30-minute intervals, and a written summary is provided at the conclusion. It is important to note that no assessments or screeners are conducted with your child during these consultations.

  • Sometimes you just need an informed mind and another set of eyes to make sure you're on the right track! Our lead mentor, Clinton McQueen, has 15+ years of experience in a range of clinical and educational leadership positions. Further details of Clinton’s career can be found by clicking About us or visiting https://www.linkedin.com/in/clintonmcqueen/

We can help speech pathologists and education professionals further develop their holistic problem solving, and their knowledge and skills. This mentoring may feel informal due to its relaxed, judgment-free and cheery feel, however, this just lets you keep an ‘open’ mind to let your clinical and professional skills further develop and refine. It promises to be motivational, collaborative, and may involve complex case discussion, resource setting and career goal setting.

This mentoring can be provided face-to-face in Melbourne, or online and available nationwide.

Initial mentoring sessions are 60 minutes in length, however, this can be negotiated after this.

We are equitable with our charges, and our mentoring rate is the same as our consultation rate - $193.99 per hour.
